ELKINS Davis Medical Center doctors and nurses received the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in Randolph County Tuesday morning.
Dr. Phil Chua was the first person in Randolph County to receive the vaccine, which arrived in Randolph County Monday afternoon, officials said. Fourteen vials, containing 70 doses of the Pfizer vaccine, will be administered this week as part of DMC’s Phase 1.

As the impact of the COVID-19 virus affects more and more families in Crawford County, Peace4Crawford and Womenâs Serviceâs Inc. are stepping up efforts to assure that families can get help when needed through its county-wide telephone âwarm line.â
âAs this pandemic and the associated social isolation and economic challenges have stretched out over the past 10 months, peopleâs resilience and capacity to cope is wearing thin, said Bruce Harlan, executive director of Womenâs Services. We see this in the increased number of families who are coping with domestic violence, and also families who have short-term needs for food assistance or mental health support. While Womenâs Services alone cannot meet all of those needs, we can connect people to services and others who can.â
