With an eye clearly on the start of the new-look Women’s Champions League, Juventus Women took to the field Sunday for its first friendly of the summer. It was the first opportunity to see what new manager Joe Montemurro has in store for a group that is coming off a fourth consecutive Serie A Femminile title a couple of months earlier.

CWCL qualifiers: Angels beat Hasaacas, pocket N2m The Punch

Nigerian champions Rivers Angels earned a historic win in their first ever continental game, when they defeated Ghana’s Hassacas Ladies 2-0 in their WAFU B zonal qualifiers for the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League at the Stade Robert Champroux in Abidjan on Saturday.
Vivian Ikechukwu assisted Deborah Abiodun with the opening goal for the Port Harcourt-based side in the 17th minute, before Ezenagu Maryann dribbled her way past a sea of legs before scoring inside the box in the 52nd minute.
With the win, Angels pocketed N2m after the Rivers State chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Desmond Akawor, promised the team N1m for every goal they score during the qualifiers.

Women’s Champions League : Louves Minproff Drawn With Malabo Kings
The draw of the Union of Central African Football Federations took place on Saturday 10, 2021.
Cameroon’s champions Louves Minproff will face Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea in the preliminary rounds of the maiden edition of the Women’s CAF Champions that is expected to kick off during the 2021-2022 season. That is the outcome of the draw of the Union of Central African Football Federations, (UNIFFAC) that took place on Saturday, July 10, 2021. In the other pairings, Missile FC of Gabon will face FCF Amani of the DR Congo in the first preliminary round. The competition will be played on home and away basis.
