(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb. 13 (Petra) Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Abdulmunim Oddat on Saturday stressed that there will be no compromise on the protection of local and foreign investments in the Kingdom that are essential for economic recovery and job-creation. The problem is not with investment legislation as it is with the actual implementation and understanding by those who are in charge of investment management, Oddat told a meeting with board members of the Amman Chambers of Commerce and Industry. He called for removing administrative and bureaucratic bottlenecks that stand in the way of business-doing.
(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Balqa, Feb. 13 (Petra) ââ Minister of Health Natheer Obaidat said Saturday that Jordan has a shortage of subspecialties and critical care specialists as a result of medical brain drain.
Speaking during a tour of hospitals in Salt Governorate, he said that many world countries attract Jordanian doctors with 34 per cent of University of Jordan and Jordan University of Science and Technology graduates working in the United States, Europe, the Gulf Arab states and other countries.
Obaidat, who was accompanied by ministry officials, said that his ministry is keen that Balqa hospitals offer high-quality service and medication, pledging to address the acute problems that these facilities face, top of which is a shortage of cadres.

Welcoming Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals Manhal Aziz, the prime minister underlined that both nations are keenly interested in launching a border economic estate project, and building a pipeline to ship Iraqi crude via the Kingdom.
On the proposed economic estate, Khasawneh called for an immediate start of the project, which is planned to be built on the Jordanian-Iraqi border to revitalize passenger and freight flow and open the door for joint investments.

Jordan Prime Minister, Bisher Khaswaneh, who chaired the meeting, directed the authorities to increase inspection visits on institutions and shops and to adopt stricter penalties against violators.
The Committee was briefed thoroughly about the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom by Health Minister, Nathir Obeidat, and the head of the coronavirus portfolio at the Ministry of Health, Wael Hayajneh.
Also discussed was the progress on the vaccination campaign and the state s efforts in securing more vaccines from different sources.
