A 46-year-old Bunnell woman stole more than two dozen items ranging from home decor to a wheelbarrow from a thrift store owned by the St. Mary Catholic Church, Flagler County Sheriff s Office detectives discovered.
“We are continuing to investigate the other thefts and asking the community to contact us if they recognize this vehicle or these suspects.”

The woman, Angelia Newsome, was arrested Feb. 18. Other thefts from the thrift store are still unsolved.
“Our detectives did a great job in locating this suspect and returning the stolen property,“ Sheriff Rick Staly said. “We are continuing to investigate the other thefts and asking the community to contact us if they recognize this vehicle or these suspects.”

Two people a woman from Canton, Florida, and a man from Palm Coast have been arrested on charges of stealing packages from local porches.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Kalamazoo Trail on Feb. 9 in reference to a larceny. The victim told deputies that she had Ring video surveillance of a woman, later identified as Kimberly Dowdy, 26, stealing packages from her front door.

Hours later, FCSO responded to a residence on Kashmir Trail for a similar incident. The victim showed deputies video captured on her Ring video surveillance that again showed Dowdy walk up to the home and steal packages. However, this time, deputies were able to identify Dowdy’s vehicle, a gold Cadillac.
Jan 31, 2021 10:51 AM Bunnell, FL - Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly says some people just don t learn, after 22-year-old John Mercurio was arrested for the eighth time last Friday (Janaury 27). Deputies responded to a reported burglary attempt on January 14, 2021 at a residence on County Road 305. The reporting person told them that an unidentified white male cut her fence to gain access onto her property. When she confronted him, he shoved her than jumped into a vehicle and fled the scene. The victim was able to provide a detailed description of both the suspect and the vehicle. FCSO General Assignment Unit detectives located the vehicle involved, a search warrant was completed and processed by the FCSO Crime Scene Investigations Unit. Through various investigative means, detectives identified the suspect as Mercurio, who has been in the Flagler County Jail eight times. Winter Haven, Fl. (Florida News Network)- Polk County Sheriff s Office arrested 37-year-old Thomas Lee Simmons of Winter Haven Tuesday for Armed Sexual Battery, Armed Robbery , Grand Theft, Dealing in Stolen Property, and False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer.
The victim called 911 from the Stay Plus Inn in Haines City. He told detectives he had been communicating with an unknown man, who turned out to be Simmons, on a dating website and had arranged to meet Simmons at the hotel. The meeting did not go as planned.
According to the affidavit, the victim told detectives, the suspect came into the room, he pulled out a fixed blade knife with a brown handle from a sheath attached to his belt and told the victim to strip naked and lay on the bed. The suspect told the victim that he was with the narcotics unit and he had other officers outside the room. During the encounter the suspect also pretended to talk on a radio to other individuals.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd described the 13 men arrested during his latest sweep against those who possess and share child pornography, Operation Guardians of the Innocence VI , carried out by undercover detectives during November and December.
This time, the suspects ranged in age from 20 to 47.
Judd said the victims depicted and abused in the images ranged from 12 year olds, down to small children, toddlers, and babies. The acts depicted, as described by Judd, are in many instances too vile to be repeated in an article meant for a general audience.
