Riverdale has changed massively since the time jump, bringing the show into a completely new era.
So some fans have been concerned this leap could signify the beginning of the end of the teen drama.
However, thankfully there is no need to worry about the show s future just yet.
The CW, the network which Riverdale originates from, has renewed it for a sixth season.

Other shows included in this multiple renewal are Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty and The Flash.

In late January 2021, “Riverdale” debuted the first episode of its fifth season on The CW. The show, based on the characters from the famous “Archie Comics,” follows the strange, tumultuous lives of Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) and Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse). The trailer for this season promised the group’s long-awaited graduation from Riverdale High School and a jolting timeline that leaps seven years into the future: Archie is in the army, Betty works for the FBI, Jughead is a published author and Veronica…is married.

Riverdale is back and the Core Four are all grown-up having left their high school days behind several years prior. The time jump in season five is showing how the lives of Archie Andrews (played by KJ Apa), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) and Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) turn out by the time they re in their early 20s. But a new character could soon put a spanner in the works of the potential reunion of either Barchie or Varchie.
