As a result of the deal, artists on WMG will be able to produce and distribute NFTs that facilitate fan reach across immersive platforms and metaverses.
The US major music company Warner Music Group (NASDAQ: WMG) has collaborated with avatar technology company Genies in order to develop avatars and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for WMG’s artists.

Pickle, Robotic Arm for Fast Trailer Unloads, Picks Up Funding

Pickle, a startup that grew out of a lab at MIT and created a robotic arm that can unload up to 1,800 boxes an hour from a trailer at a loading dock, has raised $5.75 million to date and picked up 3PL and parcel shipping clients who have a need for speed.
The arm, called Dill, works in conjunction with warehouse associates, who step in to pick up any dropped packages and handle irregular items. The idea behind Dill is that removing the logjam at the loading dock has downstream benefits in terms of throughput in the entire warehouse operation.
Launch of the Parsley Box Group plc Share Incentive Plan Parsley Box, the direct to consumer provider of ready meals focused on the Baby Boomer+ demographic, announces that, on 30 April 2021, awards over an aggregate of 220,660 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ( Ordinary Shares ) were made under the terms of its recently established HMRC tax-advantaged all-employee share scheme, namely the Parsley Box Group plc Share Incentive Plan (the SIP or the Plan ). The SIP (details of which were included in Parsley Box s admission document) allows the Company to provide employees with a variety of different share-related benefits. The grants made on 30 April 2021 are in the form of Free Share awards in terms of which each of the relevant individuals has been provided with approximately £3,600 worth of Ordinary Shares at no cost to them.
Weav raises $4.3M to knit together a universal API for commerce platforms
Weav, which is building a universal API for commerce platforms, is emerging from stealth today with $4.3 million in funding from a bevy of investors, and a partnership with Brex.
Founded last year by engineers Ambika Acharya, Avikam Agur and Nadav Lidor after participating in the W20 YC batch, Weav joins the wave of fintech infrastructure companies that aim to give fintechs and financial institutions a boost. Specifically, Weav’s embedded technology is designed to give these organizations access to “real time, user-permissioned” commerce data that they can use to create new financial products for small businesses.
MIT startup Pickle raises $5.75M for its package-picking robot
There’s no doubt this past year has been a major watershed moment for the robotics industry. Warehouse and logistics have been a particular target for an automation push, as companies have worked to keep the lights on amidst stay at home orders and other labor shortages.
MIT spinoff Pickle is one of the latest startups to enter the fray. The company launched with limited funding and a small team, though it’s recently changed one of these, telling TechCrunch this week that it has raised $5.57 million in funding during this hot investment streak. The seed round was led by Hyperplane and featured Third Kind Venture Capital, Box Group and Version One Ventures, among others.
