Petaluma Police are asking for help identifying two suspected credit card thieves. Surveillance cameras captured footage of the two thieves last Thursday afternoon using stolen credit cards to make illegal purchases at various businesses on McDowell Boulevard in Petaluma. They were captured on camera leaving the businesses on their bikes. One was a white adult male wearing a grey t-shirt, grey jeans and brown work boots, and the other an white adult female with brown hair wearing a black zip-up sweatshirt and blue jeans.

An intoxicated Petaluma resident has been arrested for negligently discharging a firearm. Petaluma Police received a call Tuesday afternoon from Aaron Court from someone who said that they were in an argument with 61-year-old Szabolcs Benedek who was intoxicated and holding a handgun asking the person to leave. While on the call to officers, a single gunshot was fired. Officers arrived and took Benedek into custody without further incident. Police checked the home for possible victims but everyone inside was found safe and uninjured. The one round fired was fortunately stopped by the garage door. Police searched the home and seized six firearms along with ammunition.

Four people have been arrested on various charges after a vehicle pursuit Monday night in Petaluma. A Petaluma Police officer noticed a Toyota Corolla turning into oncoming traffic on East Washington Street at Lakeville Street. The officer pursued and the driver eventually pulled over at the intersection of 6th and A Streets. The driver, 32-year-old Wilmer De Leon of Novato, was arrested for evading. Meanwhile, one passenger was arrested for possessing or concealing a firearm in a vehicle, another for possessing an open alcoholic beverage in a vehicle and for violating his probation, and the third for possession of alcohol as a minor.
