Barangay Ginebra San Miguel coach Tim Cone recognizes talent when he sees one, and from what he saw from rookie Andre Paras, there is one quality in the center’s game that impresses the champion mentor.
“He has a big rep as a big time rebounder. He’s a big time rebounder,” Cone said when he guested on the sports show The Chasedown last Saturday on One PH over CIGNAL TV.
“Rebounders always excite me. I’m always really excited about having rebounders on the team. I think they are very hard to groom. Rebounders are more natural,” added Cone.

FAMILIA de Paras pencils in its name in the list of clans with two generations of PBA players, with the selection of Andre in Sunday afternoon s draft event. The 25-year-old old celebrity big man was called in the third round by the Blackwater Bossings.
It was coach Nash Racela who announced Andre Paras name.

SURPRISING as Andre Paras application for the PBA Rookie Draft was, all the more shocking was him being a Fil-foreigner in the eyes of the pro league.
The son of two-time PBA MVP Benjie was curiously one of the players who the league said have yet to submit the necessary documents proving his Filipino citizenship to the PBA office, two days before a league-imposed deadline.
It s quite strange for Paras to be considered a Fil-foreigner given that he is as Filipino as balut. But it turned out the ruling only boils down to one thing: his place of birth.
