Bengaluru airport launches 200,000 sq.ft dedicated express cargo terminal. | Photo Credit: IANS The Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB/ BLR Airport) on Friday launched a dedicated, 200,000 sq.ft.express cargo terminal, exclusively for export and import of international couriers. Developed by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) operator of BLR Airport - the built-to-suit facility will house global express courier organisations. The terminal will have a dedicated space for Customs offices, and direct access to both landside and airside, a BIAL statement said.

User fees at BLR airport to rise in new 5-year term starting April

March 13, 2021 × The user development fees (UDF) at Bangalore International Airport are set to rise significantly in the new five-year period beginning April, to offset the lower passenger traffic during the last year of the existing five-year period that ends this month and completion of capital expansion projects, according to Prem Watsa, Chairman of Fairfax India Holdings Corporation which controls India’s third largest airport. The aero tariffs - one of the three sources of revenue to the airport- collected from airlines and passengers for landing, parking and other services, are set for five-year periods (called ‘control periods’) by the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA).

2-lakh-sq-ft built-to-suit facility will house leading global express courier organisations The terminal will have a dedicated space for customs offices and direct access to both land and airside Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (KIAB) on Friday (March 12) announced the opening of the country s first dedicated express cargo terminal, which would help the private airport operator to handle over 25 per cent more cargo annually. The express cargo market for business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) sectors has tremendous potential to grow over the next decade. It is on account of a larger playing field with multiple service providers, improved transit time, and value-added services and the new facility, set up exclusively for export and import of international couriers, would cater to this demand, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) said in a release.
