ABU DHABI, 20th February, 2021 (WAM) The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) hosted the third session of its Future of Industry Dialogue series. Convening relevant local and international entities and academia invested in advanced technology, the virtual meeting discussed ways to boost the contribution of the advanced technology sector to the UAE s GDP.
Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Cabinet Member and Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Technology, met with senior representatives of the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), Mubadala, Strata, Masdar, the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), G42, GE, Siemens Energy, Honeywell, Oracle, Unilever, Google, and Cisco.

The UAE s Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology held the third of its Future of Industry Dialogue online meetings, exploring ways of increasing the advanced technology sector’s contribution to the country s economic growth.
The first in the series, which began this month, focused on the heavy industries and the second on supporting a resilient food and beverage sector in the UAE.

Abu Dhabi: The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), the world’s first graduate-level, research-based artificial intelligence (AI) university, has officially welcomed its first student cohort at a virtual event with students from across the world, who will be beginning their studies in Abu Dhabi later this week.
Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Chairman of the MBZUAI Board of Trustees, delivered a welcome speech emphasising the critical importance of AI, especially during the pandemic, as well as in transforming industries to achieve greater outcomes. He was joined by Professor Dr Eric Xing, president of MBZUAI, as well as members from the student body, faculty, and staff from the university.
