EOC adds badminton to European Games Krakow-Malopolska 2023 01/19/21 The European Olympic Committees (EOC) is pleased to announce that badminton is the latest sport to be added to the programme of the European Games Kraków-MaÅ‚opolska 2023. An agreement was reached today between the EOC and Badminton Europe at the House of Sport in Copenhagen, with EOC Acting President Niels Nygaard and Badminton Europe General Secretary Brian Agerbak putting ink to the contract. Badminton joins a growing number of sports on the programme for Kraków-MaÅ‚opolska, after beach handball, canoe, karate, modern pentathlon and taekwondo were all confirmed in December. Kraków-MaÅ‚opolska will be the third straight edition of the European Games for badminton, following successful appearances at Baku 2015 and Minsk 2019.

Growth has been substantial, however, in the most challenging year so far, learn how the Centre was able to stay strong and now looks towards a bright future.  Three years ago, when the project started, the number of players were fewer than today. Over time, numbers grew as players and federations began seeing that it is a good place to be for many of their top talents. When arriving and trying the facilities, there is often great positivity when witnessing first-hand how Europe’s future stars can flourish in this environment.
