Salty Cat Day in St. Andrews was inspired by its Salty Dog Day event, as well as the neighborhood s catch phrase, Keep St. Andrews Salty. It will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 15, in conjunction with the St. Andrews Farmers Market.
The event is intended as a fundraiser and public awareness campaign for the Salty Cats of St. Andrews Rescue, founded by New York transplant Jackie Mihal. She and some volunteers started trapping to alter and vaccinate the stray cats in St. Andrews about June 2019. The effort also feeds between 50-70 cats each night, depending on how many show up.

Next week, Shimane Prefecture will celebrate the relatively young Takeshima Day, which will invariably invite protest from the South Korean government that controls the islands it knows as “Dokdo.” All the while, media outlets continue to report on Chinese vessels maintaining their long streak of operations in the waters surrounding the Senkaku Islands.

The social game is a spin-off of the turn-based strategy series
Nobunaga’s Ambition. However, instead of Oda Nobunaga, you have Oda Nobunyaga. Other key figures made into feline mascots include the likes of Date Masiamune and Ishida Mitsunyari.
