Dec 31, 2020 James Francis Miller, 89, of Lock Haven, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home. Born in Lock Haven on Dec. 23, 1931, he was the son of the late George M. and Dorothy Sellers Miller. James attended St. Agnes Catholic School prior to graduating from Lock Haven High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, proudly serving during the Korean War from 1952 until his Honorable Discharge in 1954. In 1955 at the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Lock Haven, James married the former G. Marie Bailey, who survives. He was employed at HRB Systems until his retirement in 1989. James was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish, attending St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Lock Haven American Legion and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

BETTY Y. MILLER Betty Y. Miller, 93, formerly of 10 Woodward Meadows, Lock Haven passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at Manor Care South, Williamsport where she had been a resident for the past four years. She was born in Farrandsville on Feb. 17, 1927 to Percy E. and Luella Simcox Young. Betty was a 1941 graduate of the Lock Haven High School and a 1949 graduate of the Lock Haven School of Nursing. She was a private duty nurse in the Lock Haven and State College area before working at the Lock Haven Hospital. She also had worked as a public health nurse and was a member of the Home Bible study.

Richard W. Brooks Richard W. Brooks, 99, of 104 Grape St., Castanea, passed away, Dec. 17, 2020 at the UPMC Lock Haven Hospital. He was born Nov. 26, 1921 in Lock Haven to the late Russell and Pearl Probst Brooks. Richard was a 1942 graduate of the Lock Haven High School and had was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII during both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. He was united in marriage, Dec. 22, 1945 to Eileen Reeder Brooks, who preceded him in death, Nov. 10, 2012. Richard had worked as an auto mechanic for over 42 years with Adam Dickey in Lock Haven, retiring in 1983. He was of the Methodist Faith and had enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Clifford “Dean” Hinton Clifford “Dean” Hinton, 78, of Lock Haven, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020 at UPMC Williamsport. He was born in Lock Haven on Aug. 28, 1942, the son of the late Clifford and Sara Seasholtz Hinton. Dean was a 1960 graduate of Lock Haven High School and served in the Army National Guard until his honorable discharge in 1966. On April 10, 1965, he married the former Linda Herr, who survives. Dean was a member of the Flemington First Church of Christ. After working at Hammermill Paper Company and the Ford Motor Company, he began his career in law enforcement on July 3, 1968 with the Lock Haven City Police Department retiring as Sargent after 30 years. But, in true Dean fashion, he could never fully retire he continued to work at PDC Spas, Lock Haven University and most recently at Belles Spring Golf Course.
