Swimmer Uses Olympic Campaign to Glorify God

Tatjana Schoenmaker set a new world record in the women’s 200 metres breaststroke in Tokyo, winning the Olympic gold medal in 2:18.95.
The 24-year-old also won the silver medal in the 100 metres breaststroke.
Tatjana uses her swimming success to point others to God.
In the Olympics, she has worn under her green South Africa swim cap another cap, proclaiming her faith.
The white Speedo cap features a blue Jesus fish under the phrase “Soli Deo Gloria,” which means “Glory to God alone.”
Before the competition she took to social media to openly express her Christian faith and pray to God to give her peace and an attitude of gratitude no matter the outcome.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has inaugurated its new embassy in Israel.
The embassy is situated in the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange building – a symbolic site given the economic partnerships developing between the two countries.
According to Breaking Christian News, UAE Ambassador Mohammed Al Khajah says this embassy is not just a hub for diplomats, but a base in a new partnership.
He says it marks a new paradigm for peace and a model for a new approach for conflict resolution.
Isaac Hertzog, Israel’s new president, attended the opening last month and hailed the event as an “important step for the entire Middle East.”
