The German Energy Agency (DENA) and the Australian National University are advisers, and Green Hydrogen Catapult is a Partner Initiative for the Zero Carbon Certification Scheme.
The Ammonia Energy Association is a global industry association that promotes the responsible use of ammonia in a sustainable energy economy. The Green Hydrogen Catapult is a global coalition of seven leading renewable hydrogen companies seeking to accelerate the scale and production of green hydrogen 50-fold in the next six years.

The ACT Government has joined as a Founding Partner in the Smart Energy Council’s Zero Carbon Certification Scheme, a national, industry-led certification scheme for renewable hydrogen, ammonia, and metal manufacture.
Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction Shane Rattenbury said that the certification scheme is an important step towards establishing the zero emissions industries of the future.
“Hydrogen is created by using a lot of electricity, and that electricity can come from polluting sources, like coal, or clean sources, like wind or solar generation,” Minister Rattenbury said.

“Unfortunately, and unsurprisingly, the Federal Government and other jurisdictions want to create hydrogen using fossil fuels like coal or gas. Not only would this increase Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions, but it would also miss the opportunity for a world-leading green hydrogen industry, powered by our rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

Australia s Smart Energy Council, an industry body for solar, storage and smart energy, has announced that it will develop a certification scheme for renewable hydrogen, renewable ammonia, renewable metals and other hydrogen derivatives within Australia.
The Zero Carbon Certification Scheme will certify that renewable hydrogen, green ammonia and green metals have been produced from renewable sources and will provide an embedded carbon rating.
The scheme aims to boost the uptake and distribution of renewable hydrogen, green ammonia and green metals in Australia and around the world, including by giving information to customers on the source of their products and how they are made.
