New design for antireflective coating in multijunction solar cells

New design for antireflective coating in multijunction solar cells Scientists in Madrid investigated the use of antireflective coatings in multijunction solar cells, drawing several conclusions that could further improve the efficiency of these cells. Their approach could improve on current antireflective coatings, particularly for high-efficiency multijunction cells, using methods and materials already proven in mass production.Improvements in one area of a PV system often place new requirements on another, as has been demonstrated in the past year by the rapid rise of larger silicon wafer formats. For anti-reflective coatings (ARCs), now widely applied to frontside . Den vollständigen Artikel lesen .

Pronexos launches new composite coating for rollers, Tonex

Pronexos launches new composite coating for rollers, Tonex ALMELO, Netherlands, March 17, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Pronexos has launched a new range of wear resistant composite coatings for CFRP rollers that will offer customers new cost-effective options for CFRP roller applications. Tonex, which is a registered trademark, is a resin-based composite coating for rollers that has been designed to meet the specific needs of the printing and packaging, converting and non-woven markets, although it has other applications too. As a coating for a carbon fibre roller Tonex has many attractive properties, comments Philipp Kroschner from Pronexos. Tonex has a very high wear resistance for its price point, which makes it an attractive choice as it s lighter and cheaper than ceramic or metal alternatives. It is also much easier to machine. You can machine a Tonex-coated roller simply by lathe turning. Achieving a smooth surface on a carbon fibre tube is difficult, but with Tonex it becomes a si

The other story is the wind.  Gusts to over 50 mph occurred in some locations.  There was a peak gust to 63 mph in New Haven early this evening!  There was a gust to 51 mph in Bridgeport.

Technical Discussion: Wind chills this morning are tough!

TONIGHT AND SUNDAY… Cloud cover will continue to expand across the state tonight ahead of our incoming low-pressure system. A few sprinkles may be possible while we’re asleep. Lows will dip into the 30s in the high terrain, but it looks like we’ll be just shy of any freezing temperatures. This will be our last period of calm conditions before the fierce weather on Sunday. SUNDAY & MONDAY… Most areas will receive a shower by the late Sunday morning. Heavier precipitation will be reserved for the afternoon. Showers will be on-and-off. However, the downpours will be enough to give everyone a soaking. Despite the low surface temperatures, embedded thunderstorms look possible in the afternoon.
