County commissioners review advertising costs. 9:53 am, Dec. 19, 2020
The Hubbard County Board reviewed advertising costs at its Dec. 8 work session.
“As time goes on, I’m hearing more and more people actually don’t get a physical paper and I can’t believe how many live in Hubbard County that just don’t get a paper,” said board chair Char Christenson.
She noted that the board has, in the past, focused on the newspaper with the largest circulation.
“But statutorily, we just have to publish it someplace,” Christenson said.
County Coordinator Eric Nerness said there has been discussion in the Association of Minnesota Counties about amending the statute to provide for posting on a website or electronic publication. “But the word back from legislators is, ‘That is so far down our priority list, we’re not going to mess with that right now,’” he said.
