The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revised its guidelines for mask-wearing Tuesday to recommend that everyone in K-12 schools students, staff, teachers and visitors should wear masks, even if they are vaccinated.
In addition, everyone living in counties with substantial spread of the virus that causes COVID-19 should wear a mask when in public indoor spaces, regardless of vaccine status, said Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the CDC director.
A spokeswoman for the governor said Tuesday that Murphy and the state Department of Health will review the new CDC guidance on masking requirements in response to the spread of the delta variant.
