Laing Bridge
On May 15, 1976 the Arthur Laing Bridge officially opened, named after a native son of Richmond who became a cabinet minister under Pierre Trudeau, then later a Senator. The $23 million four-lane bridge, which crosses the north arm of the Fraser to Sea Island, vastly speeded up access to the Vancouver International Airport. It reduced the distance from downtown to the airport by more than three kilometres. Traffic had started using the bridge August 27, 1975, but the official opening was May 15, 1976. It’s 1,676 metres (one mile) in total length, and more than 90,000 vehicles use it daily.

Have your wedding at the quaint St. John s Churchâbuilt in 1891âthis Valentine s Day.Â
Love in the time of coronavirus is hardâespecially when the pandemic has forced thousands of couples to cancel or reschedule their weddings to another year. According to a Brides.com survey last fall, 66 percent of respondents said they postponed weddings. We get it. Why spend almost $34,000 (the average cost of a wedding, according to The Knot) on a wedding, if itâs just going to get cancelled last minute because of a spike in Covid-19 cases?

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) A small group of demonstrators made their way through Boston Wednesday night to mark the Inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Joe Biden.
The rally started with speeches on the Boston Common at the Parkland Bandstand, away from the barricade State House.
One demonstrator, Nicki, was there to celebrate. “I’m here because for the first time I’m proud to be a Black American,” she said.
Nicki was wearing an American flag mask she made herself that had the words ‘Black Lives Matter’ on it. She said she feels recognized for the first time because Kamala Harris was sworn in as the first Black woman and first Asian American woman vice president.
