The cases included:
• on Sunday, July 11 at 7:52 p.m., three barking dogs were reported to be at a house on Aerie Drive. The police were told there was an hour of noise at the location.
• on July 11 at 2:50 p.m., a dog was reportedly seen locked inside a vehicle at or close to Park Avenue and 12th Street. The police were told the windows were “barely rolled down” and the animal was “panting like crazy.”
• on Saturday, July 10 at 3:49 p.m., the police were told of dogs a black Labrador and a yellow Labrador off leashes and chasing ducks off Deer Valley Drive. The police were told someone was “allowing” the pets to chase the birds.
The Park City Police Department last week received an unusual report involving an object seen in the air, apparently in the area of Kimball Junction.
The police logged the report at 6:04 a.m. on Sidewinder Drive. The person who contacted the department indicated “something just fell out of the sky,” according to public police logs.
The person told the police the object “may be a comet.”
The person was on the Rail Trail walking a dog at the time. The Rail Trail is far removed from Kimball Junction but provides views of the sky in that direction.
The Police Department indicated the circumstances were suspicious.

The Park City Police Department on Wednesday conducted an inspection operation targeting trucks primarily on Kearns Boulevard, finding violations serious enough to remove nearly one-quarter of the vehicles from service.
The police conducted the operation between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The agency’s team of traffic officers conducted the stops and inspections.
The police said 13 trucks were pulled over for visible violations. They were then taken to the parking lot at Park City High School for inspection. The police said four of the 13 trucks were removed from service based on safety violations. Three drivers were ordered off the road for unspecified violations.
