Another COVID-19 death was recorded in Haldimand-Norfolk on Thursday.
The death count since the beginning of the pandemic has risen to 41.
Another 22 positive cases and 18 recoveries were also reported, bringing the total active case count up to 291.
The new cases are out of Caledonia (6), Dunnville (4), Jarvis (2), Simcoe (7), Waterford (2), and Langton (1).
On the vaccine end, 32,959 doses have been administered in the area.

The Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit reported its 41st COVID-19 related death on Thursday.
The only information provided by the health unit was that the resident had been living in the community prior to their passing.

The death comes on the same day the HNHU reported 22 new COVID-19 cases, a decrease from the 31 reported on Wednesday.
Despite the lower number of new cases, active cases increased from 288 on Wednesday to 291 on Thursday.
Since the pandemic began last March, 2,090 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Haldimand-Norfolk, with 1,753 of those resulting in recovered cases.

After a one-day dip in new COVID-19 cases, the Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit was reporting on Wednesday a sharp increase in positive tests for the past 24 hours.
Following 11 new cases reported on Tuesday, the HNHU reported 31 new cases on Wednesday.

With the increase in new cases there was also a bump in active cases from 277 on Tuesday to 288 on Wednesday.
Since the pandemic began last March, 2,068 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Haldimand-Norfolk, with 1,735 of those resulting in recovered cases.

A 15th local death attributed to COVID-19 was reported on Wednesday by the Brant County Health Unit.
Details were not immediately available on the victim’s age, gender or source of transmission.

The death was reported on the same day that the area saw its new COVID-19 cases jump. On Wednesday, the health unit reported 51 new cases in the past 24 hours, up from the 34 new cases on Tuesday.
Total active cases also increased to 284 on Wednesday from 281 on Tuesday.
