Vietnam confirms 40 new domestic Covid-19 cases

The Health Ministry confirmed 46 new Covid-19 cases Friday evening – 40 community transmissions and six imported infections.
The 40 community transmissions were recorded in Hanoi (24), Da Nang (5), Hung Yen (4), and one each in Hai Duong, Dien Bien, Ha Nam, Nghe An, Nam Dinh, Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc provinces.
In Hanoi, the 24 patients are linked either to the infected Chinese experts in Yen Bai Province or cases confirmed at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases and the K cancer hospital, both coronavirus hotspots in Hanoi.

Da Nang has restricted local restaurants from offerring dine-in services since Friday noon and has closed a local market which was visited by a COVID-19 patient earlier this week.
The dine-in suspension came into effect from 12:00 pm on Friday and will last until further notice, as per an order issued by the municipal People’s Committee on Thursday evening.
That same evening, the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade ordered the operator of Dong Da Market in Hai Chau District to temporarily close its doors in light of recent information revealing a COVID-19 patient had visited the market several times.

Over 20 people including six police officers have been quarantined following their direct contact with a woman who tested positive for the novel coronavirus after returning to southern Dong Nai Province from central Da Nang City.
An official from the Dong Nai Department of Health confirmed on Wednesday morning that 23 people have been brought to quarantine facilities after coming into contact with 44-year-old B.T.T..
T. hails from Long Khanh City, Dong Nai Province but lives in Da Nang and works at New Phuong Dong Club in the central city.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau - New waves of investment coming to the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau will push up demand for land rentals at local industrial parks (IPs), which in turn will need to be expanded.
According to the provincial IPs management board, the province is home to 16 IPs covering a total area of 9,054 ha.
Together they house 469 valid projects worth more than 20.09 billion USD, with occupancy rates standing at 52.35 percent.
Nguyen Anh Triet, head of the board, noted that the upcoming expansion of local IPs is in line with a Government decree as well as State regulations on the management and planning of IPs and economic zones.

Le Thu Thuy, 38, is the daughter of Nguyen Thi Nga, president of BRG, who is also the person holding the most power at SeABank.
Thuy graduated from George Mason University in the US and married an American man.
Thuy became the standing member of SeABank’s board of directors in 2009, when she was 26 years old. Two years later, she held the post of CEO of SeABank. She left the post in 2013 to take the post of deputy CEO and then returned to the post of CEO in 2018.
