HOUSTON A deadly crash that shut down roads near Bush Intercontinental Airport early Friday was the result of a domestic dispute that led to a chase, Houston police tell KHOU 11 News.
The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. in the 18700 block of Lee Road. A total of five vehicles were involved, according to preliminary information from the Houston Police Department.
Police at the scene told KHOU 11 the wreck was the result of a domestic situation between a girlfriend and a boyfriend. The woman left her boyfriend in her car, but he followed her in his vehicle.

The crash was reported about 8:15 a.m. on Lee Road near FM 1960.
According to Houston police, a boyfriend and girlfriend got into an argument at their home. The girlfriend left the house in a vehicle and the boyfriend began chasing her in another vehicle, police said.
Police said the boyfriend rammed his vehicle into the back of his girlfriend’s vehicle before hitting another vehicle head-on.
The boyfriend was killed in the crash. His identity has not been released.
Neither the girlfriend nor the driver of the other vehicle was seriously injured.
Beginning Monday, April 12, Southwest Airlines will begin flying passengers at George Bush Intercontinental Airport for the first time in 16 years. The flights will be non-stop to five destinations.
