A global campaign is calling for speed limits to be reduced to 20mph in neighbourhoods across Hertfordshire.
Emergency services swarmed a road after a car ended up on its roof. Hertfordshire Constabulary says it was called to reports of a collision in High Road, Bushey Heath, around 10.21am this morning (Thursday). A red Honda Jazz had flipped onto its roof and two parked vehicles were also damaged, police said. Photos show the car upside down in the middle of the road, whilst at least two police cars, an ambulance and a fire engine were at the scene.

Investigations to determine the cause of a fire that shut a major road for hours are still ongoing. A fire broke out on the edge of Bushey Heath first thing yesterday (April 6) and multiple fire crews rushed to the scene. The road in Sparrows Herne was closed by police for most of the day, only reopening at around 5pm. Now Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue reveals that they were called to the scene at 5.52am on April 6, alerting police about the incident just minutes later at 6am. Houses faced severe damage from the fire (Photo: Nathan Louis) On arrival, firefighters found that a fire on the first floor of a terraced house, which spread into the roof space and to two neighbouring properties.

The road in Sparrows Herne has been closed by police for most of the day, only reopening at around 5pm, but a police cordon remains in place outside a house. Serious damage has been caused to rooftops both at the front and back of the house, with shattered windows, and it is believed the fire spread to two neighbouring properties within the same complex.
