The good news is that pre-pandemic, B.C. kids and their families were better off than they had been for more than decade as the province’s chronically bad child poverty rate continued its improving trend.
COVID stopped that progress in its tracks and is making it even more challenging for the province to meet its 2024 target of reducing overall poverty by 25 per cent within five years.
