SIESTA KEY, Fla. â A person was taken to the hospital after being bitten by a shark in waters south off Siesta Key on Tuesday.
According to Sarasota County Emergency Services, the Sarasota County Fire Department responded to a shark bite call around 8:24 a.m.
The bite happened in the 7100 block of Point of Rock Circle on Siesta Key, according to emergency services.
A spokesperson tells ABC Action News, the victim was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
The condition of the patient has not been released.
