Interlochen School of Music accepts Wilmington s Noah Nunez

Through perseverance and hard work, Noah Nunez, a 16-year-old Wilmington Early College High School student, was recently accepted to the Interlochen School of Music, which only admits 2,500 students annually. Noah became interesting in playing the piano at age 10, when he saw videos of people playing difficult and skill-intensive pieces. He then knew that he wanted to become a pianist so he could play such pieces himself. Noah decided to attend the Interlochen summer program for piano because he’d heard from his teacher, Susan Honey, that it was a great place for learning and improving at piano. Honey began playing the piano at the age of 9. By 11, the neighborhood children started to ask for piano lessons. And by the age of 12, Honey had played with The Florida Orchestra, attended the Interlochen School of Music and worked with professors at USF and UCF.
