A CRITICALLY acclaimed West End musical on its first ever UK tour will take to the stage at Venue Cymru next summer. Dreamgirls follows three talented young singers, Effie White, Lorrell Robinson and Deena Jones, during the turbulent 1960s, a revolutionary time in American music history. With little choice in an imperfect world, the trio embarks upon a musical rollercoaster ride through a world of fame, fortune and the ruthless realities of show business, testing their friendships to the very limit. The storyline took inspiration from the history of the Motown record label and one of its most famous acts, The Supremes. The show, which features the classic songs such as And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going and One Night Only, received major plaudits following its debut at the Savoy Theatre in London in 2016.
