Bluffton to offer town manager job to Easley city administrator Bluffton Today Bluffton Town Council has selected its top candidate for town manager. Council unanimously voted Monday to authorize town attorney Terry Finger to offer the job to Stephen Steese, a news release said. Steese is the Easley city administrator in Pickens County. The release said council made the decision “after an all-day executive session in which Town Council members were scheduled to interview four final candidates.” It said the town planned to make public the names of three finalists, but “council decided to select Steese at the end of executive session.”

Easley administrator Stephen Steese gets job offer in Bluffton

Steese said he has informed council members and the mayor of Easley about the process. The town of Bluffton said, in a press release, that the town’s attorney is drafting the offer, which would finalize salary and start date. The Bluffton Town Council met Monday in executive session for much of the day with the intent to publicly name three finalists but decided instead to offer the job to Steese, according to the town’s statement. Steese has been administrator since 2015. He has been with the city during a downtown revitalization and projects including the Doodle Trail, a mill renovation, the Silos project and a population boom expected to vastly increase the city’s size in coming years.
