Most physicians view psychiatrists as somewhat feral animals. We suspect with some justification that many of their ideas are hot air. Unlike any other specialty, psychiatrists take care of people with normal labs and radiologic tests. They keep only patients with purely subjective problems. Psychiatrists pass patients with “organic” issues such as thyroid disease to others. These are the ones with identifiable physical signs, symptoms, and tests. Likewise, psychiatrists base treatment outcomes solely on their theories and observing patient behavior rather than on measurable, objective results.

The global burdens of COVID and the global benefits of anti-COVID policy have been skewed against the poorer nations of the world, and within nations, against the poor and the vulnerable.
It is no exaggeration to observe that the coronavirus pandemic has been the single most newsworthy event of 2020, in a way and on a scale that has not been rivalled, over decades, by any other comparably unique phenomenon. We intend this as a purely positive statement a simple search of Google Trends will readily confirm it but when juxtaposed with other relatively neglected observations, it has practical and normative implications that deserve our attention.

Scientists and science are being suppressed, according to many, regarding COVID if it contradicts the science that s being used to set political policy around the pandemic.
Reflect On:
Has COVID been a catalyst for more people to question our world and the way we operate? Has it opened people up to the idea that governments and big politics as a system, the way it is now, is not able to put our best interests first?
