Former PRH employee announces run for Pullman City Council

Megan Guido, a 30-year Pullman resident, declared Tuesday she is running for Pullman City Council this year to replace Brandon Chapman in the Ward 3 seat. In her written announcement Guido wrote she is running because “Pullman needs proactive governance and inclusive leadership.” “The world is changing, whether it is the economy, COVID-19, or social justice issues,” she said. “We can see those changes right here in our own city. We need to proactively look at how these changes impact the community we live in and love.” Guido worked for 21 years at Pullman Regional Hospital in administration and served as the public information officer before leaving earlier this year to start a coaching business for healthcare workers and other professionals.

Former Pullman Regional Hospital Public Information Officer Megan Guido has announced her candidacy for Pullman City Council. Guido has lived in Pullman for 30 years and spent the last 21 years at PRH.  She is running for the open Ward 3 post that’s being vacated by Brandon Chapman. In her campaign announcement Guido says she is running because she believes Pullman needs proactive governance and inclusive leadership.  She says, “The world is changing whether it’s the economy, COVID-19, or social justice issues.  We can see those changes right here in our own city.  We need to proactively look at how these changes impact the community we live in and love.”

Guide: How to get a COVID-19 vaccine in Pullman

COVID-19 vaccine appointments are filling up quickly as vaccine eligibility expanded April 15 to all individuals over 16 years old in Washington state.   As of April 20, Whitman County has administered over 29,280 COVID-19 vaccination doses, according to the Washington State Department of Health’s COVID-19 data dashboard.   For those interested in scheduling an appointment, Pullman Regional Hospital, Palouse Medical and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, among others, currently offer vaccines to the Pullman community.  Pullman Regional Hospital  PRH, located at 835 SE Bishop Boulevard, will administer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at its upcoming clinics, according to the hospital’s COVID-19 vaccine page.   Those over 18 years old are eligible to receive the Moderna vaccine, according to the vaccine’s Emergency Use Authorization fact sheet.
