Cox noted on Tuesday he has been encouraged with the progress of Mandaloun, as well as the colt s path to the Kentucky Derby. “He was four weeks back to the Risen Star from the Lecomte,” Cox said during an National Thoroughbred Racing Association conference call with media on Tuesday. “We’re coming back five weeks to the Louisiana Derby now. If all goes well we’ll have six weeks before the Kentucky Derby… I’m good with six weeks between.”
