The friends and supporters of the Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope took their dancing shoes off the shelf and headed to the Pelican Club in Jupiter for a Dancing With The Stars -style evening. Lois Gackenheimer, Janet Levy and Gail Sermersheim were chairwomen for the inaugural Dancing The Night Away event, which was hosted by the Fred Astaire Dance Studio. Ten amateur dancers, all of them supporters of CAHH, took local lessons from the studio to prepare for the competition and win bragging rights as the 2021 top male and female terpsichoreans.

Cancer patients respond well to mRNA Covid-19 vaccines, new study finds

In a new study, cancer patients developed a good immune response to Covid-19 mRNA vaccines three to four weeks after they received their second dose. The research published in Cancer Cell assessed Covid-19 positivity and antibodies in a small group of cancer patients after receiving two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. Immunity in cancer patients The study enrolled 131 cancer patients from the United States and Sweden from January to April 2021. None of the participants had previous antibodies against the virus.
