Utah cities ranked on list of top ten performing cities, here s why

Utah Business The Milken Institute, a non-profit think tank based in Santa Monica California, releases a ranking each year for the best performing cities based on “GDP growth, wage increase, job creation,” and other factors. Comparing over 400,000 metropolitan areas, it may well surprise people that Utah has three cities in their top ten ranking this year. Provo-Orem was ranked at number one, with Salt Lake City following closely behind at number four, and Ogden-Clearfield jumping into the top ten at number nine. As stated by the report, “These cities registered levels of wage and job growth that were far above the national median. They also had relatively affordable housing costs and very high levels of broadband access, indicating inclusive growth based on housing and infrastructure investment.”

Double tracking would involve adding a second pair of tracks parallel to the current ones. The goal would be to double track the full length of FrontRunner from Ogden to Provo. Train service would become more frequent with two tracks. Right now, a train comes about every 30 minutes during peak hours and every hour during non-peak times. Double tracking would allow the train to run as often as every 15 minutes during peak hours.

Google Fiber came to Provo in 2013 to introduce its high-speed internet services to Utah. Many Provo residents and students have since relied on Google Fiber for their internet services. A recent shift toward the use of internet services over cable services caused Google Fiber and Provo City to reevaluate their agreement.
