Curtain Up! TPAC Announces 2021-22 Broadway Season

Tweet Share The curtain goes up once again this fall at Tennessee Performing Arts Center, as the nonprofit welcomes a big Broadway lineup that includes seven Nashville premieres, along with a multi-week return engagement of Disney’s The Lion King. “All of us at TPAC are grateful for the tremendous support the organization has received from our loyal season ticket holders, patrons, and arts lovers across Tennessee during this unprecedented intermission,” says Jennifer Turner, TPAC President and CEO, in a press release. “Thanks to this vibrant arts community that TPAC calls home, we were able to provide innovative virtual programming during the pandemic and prepare for the safe return to the joy and healing power of live theater. We can’t wait to bring people together again and raise the curtain on a spectacular new Broadway season.”

The five performances take place from Saturday, May 8, 2021 through Sunday, May 16, 2021 and will be the first Utah Opera performances staged for a live audience since October 2020. San Diego Opera Announces Live, Drive-In, Spring Season

Inspired by the success from their safe drive-in performances of La bohème in the Fall, which heralded the return of live, in-person, opera to San Diego County since the start of the pandemic, and provided over 300 jobs to many who had not worked since March of 2020, San Diego Opera has announced a Spring season of safe, socially-distanced, drive-in performances. The Spring Season opens on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 7:30 PM with One Amazing Night, San Diego Opera s annual concert of arias and duets with the San Diego Symphony. Titled When I See Your Face Again: Unmasking the music of notorious pandemics, this year s one-night-only event will explore great works inspired by, and composed in response to, cataclysmic moments in history such as 1918 Influenza Pandemic and the HIV Crisis of the 1980s.
