WHAT S THE IMPACT? The partnership between insurer, provider and the United Way closes the gap between clinical and nonclinical organizations. Through the Healthify platform and the network, providers and community resources are connected to provide whole-person care to the most vulnerable members of the community, the organizations said.

Associated Press WICHITA Students in Wichita are resuming in-person learning and some bars and restaurants in the Kansas City area are extending their hours as the bumpy COVID-19 vaccine rollout continues. The Wichita district, which is the state’s largest with about 47,000 students, is bringing elementary students back on Wednesday. These young students had been sent home late last year because of a lack of substitutes and rising COVID-19 cases. The district also plans for middle and high school students, who have been in remote learning since the start of the academic year, to return later this month in a hybrid mode. That means they’ll be in person part of the time and at home the rest.

One dead following crash involving deer near Rossville One person is dead and two others are injured following a crash Tuesday evening near Rossville. Authorities were dispatched shortly after 7:30 p.m. after a passenger car struck a deer on Hwy 24, about a mile east of Rossville. The driver was attempting to avoid hitting the deer, and in doing so, left the roadway, drove into a ditch then turned back into the roadway where it struck an oncoming vehicle. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 63-year-old Lucinda Mitchell of Rossville, a passenger in the first car, died at the scene. The driver, 61-year-old Christopher Mitchell, also of Rossville, sustained a serious injury and was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
