PETALING JAYA: French police have issued an international arrest warrant for one of their citizens said to be living in Malaysia for his alleged role in the abduction of an eight-year-old girl in eastern France, according to multiple news reports.
Rémy Daillet-Wiedemann, 55, is said to be a conspiracy theorist with links to far-right groups who allegedly played a role in the abduction of Mia Montemaggi last week on the request of her mother Lola Montemaggi.
Both Lola and Mia were found in a disused factory at the border border village of Sainte-Croix in Switzerland on April 18, five days after Mia was allegedly taken from her grandmother’s home in the eastern Vosges region by three men posing as child protection officers.
Malaysian police are searching for a French citizen in connection with the kidnapping of an eight-year-old girl in eastern France.
France has issued an international arrest warrant for Remy Daillet, a conspiracy figure, who allegedly helped organise the girl s abduction.
8-year-old Mia was found on Sunday with her mother, Lola Montemaggi, by police in Switzerland after disappearing last week.
She was abducted on April 13 by several men on her mother s orders while staying with her maternal grandmother in a village in the Vosges region.
Swiss police found Mia, safe and sound, in a squat in Sainte-Croix, after an extensive police search in France and several border countries.

French prosecutors on Tuesday announced an international arrest warrant for a leading figure in conspiracy circles who is suspected of helping to organize the kidnapping of an eight-year-old girl that gripped the nation last week.
The girl, identified as Mia, was found on Sunday with her 28-year-old mother, Lola Montemaggi, by police in Switzerland, following an intense five-day search after she was taken from her grandmother’s home in Poulieres, eastern France.
Five men, as well as Montemaggi, have been detained over the abduction, which saw three of the men pose as child welfare officials to convince the grandmother to hand over Mia.
