Teen arrested for BB gun shooting pedestrians on 30A in Walton County

A 17-year-old reportedly suffered an arm injury near Quincy Circle at Seaside. Deputies were dispatched to the area and were able to identify a suspect.   The juvenile suspect was arrested Tuesday morning and was charged with battery and improper exhibition of a firearm, WCSO reported. Both charges are misdemeanors.  Deputies also are investigating a second incident that could be connected. A 15-year-old victim suffered a significant injury to his eye and was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. The teen was later transferred to Gainesville to undergo surgery, WCSO reported. The Sheriff’s Office said it is in contact with the victim’s family and has been receiving updates on his condition.

2 Georgia hospital groups require vaccine for employees

Piedmont Healthcare and St. Mary’s Health Care require employees to be vaccinated. Author: Jon Shirek Updated: 12:14 AM EDT July 14, 2021 ATLANTA Most Georgians have still not gotten the full round of COVID-19 shots. Just 39 percent were fully vaccinated as of Tuesday. But more and more hospitals across the country are requiring their employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or the employees will be fired. So far, there are two hospital groups in Georgia mandating vaccinations for employees, with few exemptions. Not all health care workers think that mandates make the patients, or them, safe. But they may have no recourse.
