Heaven and Hell: Dancing Goat Cafe co-owner Wendy Baker | East Anglian Daily Times

Gina Long Wendy Baker indulging in her love of painting - Credit: Dan Woodside After the hospitality industry began reopening last week, and alfresco dining and drinking became the ‘new normal’, Wendy Baker was somewhat ahead of the curve – by 20 years. The artisan co-owner of the Dancing Goat Café in Framlingham, which is also her home, was one of the first to introduce outside seating in 2001 when she opened their café. A proud Liverpudlian, Wendy is equally at home championing art and education, to working on her next creation, or enjoying the region’s countryside and coastline, with her partner Dan and their daughters. Here she talks to Gina Long.

Discovering the 'Aha!' moment while reading reduces stress for Fisdom CEO

Subramanya SV, Co-founder and CEO, Fisdom s areas of reading interest are start-ups, politics, cricket and music. Almost all books fall into this category. My objective is to read two books per month. In the last few months, I read Atomic Habits by James Clear, Deep Work by Cal Newport, Principles by Ray Dalio, Jugalbandi by Vinay Sitapati, Trillion Dollar Coach which is a book on Bill Campbell, The Commonwealth of Cricket by Ramachandra Guha, Radical Candour by Kim Scott and many more. I also listened to several podcasts, he says. Atomic Habits really helped Subramanya in adding specific lifestyle habits to his daily life. “ Deep Work gave me clarity on the need for setting aside blocks of time for doing meaningful work without distractions of email, messages and social media. On weekdays, I typically read for half an hour before sleeping. On weekends, I try to read for a few hours, he says.
