New Hampshire to receive $3.1 million for affordable housing New Hampshire will receive $3.1 million for affordable housing, part of a yearly allocation made nationally by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The money is administered through the New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority. Ben Frost, managing director of policy and public affairs said the funding, awarded through applications, is intended to help provide housing for the lowest income populations in the state.  We have clients residing in shelters and transitional housing that would love to be in their own place but we do not have enough housing stock to accommodate the needs, said Betsey Andrews Parker, leader of Community Action Partnership of Strafford County. COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program launches March 15 in New Hampshire

Sununu, the rental market in New Hampshire will be receiving another dose of government assistance on March 15. But even with new relief on the way, the creation of affordable housing remains a pressing issue for the state.  The latest round of rental assistance comes from a stimulus bill passed in Jan. that dedicated $25 billion to the states. The money is part of the Coronavirus Relief Fund, run by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
