Gutman, who serves as chairman of the Brooklyn Navy Yard and serves on the Board of Brooklyn Bridge Park, was a member of de Blasio’s BQE Expert Panel in 2019 and 2020. “Hank Gutman is a visionary leader whose decades of civic life in this city have made New York City fairer, better, and more accessible,” de Blasio said. “We made permanent and progressive changes to city streets last year, and we have more to do this year. I can’t wait to work with him to expand transportation options to every New Yorker and build a recovery for all of us.”

Capitol Confidential By Edward McKinley on February 4, 2021 at 9:18 AM ALBANY Bills in the state Assembly and Senate would lower the amount of lead that can be found in school drinking water before action is taken to one-third of the current threshold.  New York passed the “Safe School Drinking Water Act” in 2016, setting the maximum safe amount of lead in drinking water to 15 parts per billion. It was one of the toughest testing mandates at the time, and other states have since followed suit. Now advocates are arguing that the threshold should be lowered even further, to five parts per billion.
