38,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in New York State Gov. Cuomo says that New York has administered more doses of the vaccine than any other state. Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Monday that New York State has administered 38,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, which his office says is the highest total in the nation. The state expects to see 466,000 doses of the vaccine arrive in the next week, including 346,200 doses of the Moderna vaccine and 120,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. This comes on the same day the country has begun its vaccine program for nursing homes and long term care facilities, including 618 in New York. The program is expected to take six weeks.

Cuomo Signs Law Barring ICE From New York Courthouses PUBLISHED 6:20 PM ET Dec. 15, 2020 PUBLISHED 6:20 PM EST Dec. 15, 2020 SHARE A bill that blocks federal immigration officers from surveilling or arresting undocumented immigrants at New York state courthouses was approved Tuesday by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a measure that was hailed by advocates and state lawmakers.  The law was approved earlier this year, aimed preventing officers from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency from taking official actions at state courthouses. The concern stems in part from ensuring immigrants will be able to participate in the state s legal system, such as appearing as witnesses, without fear of federal enforcement action.
