After lot of confusion, Covid vaccination for 18-45 age group finally begins in J&K

140 receive 1st dose in Jammu Govind Sharma JAMMU/SRINAGAR, May 1: After a lot of confusion, the third phase of the COVID-19 vaccination drive to cover people in the 18-45 age group began today in Jammu and Kashmir in a phased manner starting with the cities of Srinagar and Jammu. In Jammu, the administration has established five designated vaccination centres for the people of age group 18-45 years. However, the vaccination was started today only in one centre established at Scoutes and Guides State HQ Gandhi Nagar near Dussehra Ground, where the drive was kick started by Director General Family Welfare MCH & Immunization J&K Dr Saleem Ur Rehman in the presence of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Jammu JP Singh.

Panic buying in view of lockdown Panic buying in view of lockdown Avtar Bhat JAMMU, Apr 29: With Government announcing lockdown in 11 districts of J&K UT from today evening to coming Monday, the people started panic buying from early this morning. As uncertainty loomed large, there was huge rush in the markets with traffic jams seen every where in the Jammu city and its outskirts as people had come out of their homes to make necessary purchases. The rush was not only seen on grocery, bakery shops, milk vendors vegetable and fruit sellers in different parts of city and its outskirts but on petrol pumps as well where two and four wheelers were seen in queues with people totally uncertain about the future plan of Government leading to panic buying.

CCI resents harassment to traders; takes up issue with Mayor, Comm CCI resents harassment to traders; takes up issue with Mayor, Comm Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Apr 20: Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu has expressed strong resentment against the attitude of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for unnecessary harassing the shopkeepers in city on one pretext or other, especially when the region is confronting with second wave of lethal corona virus and business is already on the lowest ebb. To strongly project the issue before the concerned authority, CCI delegation led by its president Arun Gupta visited JMC office here at Town Hall and met Commissioner of the civic body, Avny Lavasa in presence of Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta.
