Connecticut Doctors Seeing Rise in Serious COVID Cases Among Young Patients

Apr 5, 2021 Doctors at Yale New Haven Hospital are experiencing an uptick in serious COVID-19 cases among younger patients. In a press conference, Dr. Thomas Balcezak, Chief Medical Officer of YNNH shared that there are currently six pediatric patients in Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital with COVID-19, including two patients in the ICU. One of those ICU patients is a 21-year-old who was placed on a ventilator. Yale New Haven Hospital officials also shared that in-patient treatment has increased by 25% over the last two weeks.
