UConn Health joins statewide health info exchange network

A data-sharing platform offered through the Connecticut State Medical Society (CSMS) announced that UConn Health has joined the system. The platform, called CTHealthLink, allows providers to access patient data from hospitals, clinics and practices as patients are cared for in different settings and at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Data sharing across providers and facilities is particularly important when patients are transferred from their home communities to receive care, which is becoming more common as COVID-19 strains hospital capacity,” said UConn Health Professor Dr. Robert Aseltine. “Having immediate access to a patient’s full medical record under these conditions may save lives and significantly improve health care for Connecticut patients.”

Vaccinations save lives, said New Haven Community Services Administration Administer Dr. Mehul Dalal New Haven announced the opening of a vaccine clinic at 54 Meadow street Monday afternoon. City officials part of the Phase 1A helped christen the opening with vaccination of their own.

Snow in Connecticut: Live updates, hour-by-hour

Connecticut saw more than a foot of snow in some areas overnight Wednesday into Thursday as a nor’easter slammed the region. Gov. Ned Lamont said Thursday morning, depending on what part of the state you live in, about 8 to 14 inches fell across Connecticut. By noon the snow had ended across Connecticut. Connecticut officials have asked residents to remain off the roads as crews continue to work on clearing the snow that has fallen and is being blown around by gusty winds. Here’s the latest information on the storm: Dec. 17 UPDATE 6:17 P.M. Westport Superintendent Thomas Scarice announced schools would operate in a remote model on Friday as clearing efforts continued throughout town. He said school officials have been informed that refreezing of town roads and parking lot surfaces may lead to unsafe conditions in the morning.
