Born Patricia Eloise Patterson on October 28, 1937, to Robert Clyde Patterson and Ruby Marie Haas Patterson, Patsy married the love of her life Richard Perry Wingfield on December 18, 1957.Â
After attending New Braunfels schools and graduating from New Braunfels High School in 1955 as a member of the Unicornsâ cheerleading squad, she spent a career that spanned over 60 years being the boss of Perry, and driving her three children, Richard, Daryl, and Robin, and their friends to sporting events and competitions, and attending every sporting event and competition of her children, their friends, their friendsâ children, and her own grandchildren. She would proffer advice on their decisions to marry too young or avoid college, and often offered direction by starting with the dreaded

Police in Texas say Chelsee Dodd shot and killed her son, Trace, 10, and gravely injured her 16-year-old daughter inside their home in New Braunfels
Chelsee and her son were both pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics
Dodd worked as a realtor and had been married for 16 years
Her final Facebook post included a photo of her smiling children and was accompanied by the words: May you all find PEACE in the New Year!
According to one resident, New Braunfels police said the Champions Village subdivision never registered a bleep on the cityâs crime monitor.
âYou could count the numbers of crimes on one hand â minus some fingers,â he said.
That was until Thursday, when police said a mother shot and killed her 10-year-old son and wounded her 16-year-old daughter before turning the gun on herself.Â
âI knew the mother and her children â weâre very, very sad,â said the manâs wife, adding over 15 years the couple had come to know the family living in a residence in the 500 block of Wilderness Way, where first-responders encountered a grisly scene just before 10 a.m.
