Special to the Tallahassee Democrat
Thursday, April 22, is Earth Day, and what better way to celebrate than by stocking up on some of Mother Nature’s best creations at a special Southside Farmers Market?
Hosted from 2-6 p.m. outside the Walker-Ford Community Center at 2301 Pasco Street, the market features fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables and more.
In addition to the fresh, affordable produce, attendees can enjoy a live radio remote with Joe Bullard and 96.1 Jamz from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m., a live cooking demonstration at 3:30 p.m. with guest chef City Commissioner Dianne Williams-Cox, giveaways and more.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to participate in a new initiative that highlights Southside residents’ community pride and encourages participation in engagement efforts that will help shape the future of the area through the Southside Action Plan.
