Services begin at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sundays, as well as at 7 p.m. Wednesdays. Temperatures will be checked at the doors when they open, 30 minutes prior to the start of each service.

(December 30, 2020) – Throughout 2020, The Lansing Journal has documented the many ways life has changed due to COVID-19, from the earliest cases of the virus in Illinois to how holiday plans have changed because of it. At the end of a year unlike any other in Lansing, The Lansing Journal has continued to add to a coronavirus timeline going back to the first Illinois case in January, with particular attention given to the virus’s impact on Lansing. 24 – Illinois health officials report the first case of coronavirus in Illinois and the second in the United States: a woman who returned from Wuhan, China, where she was caring for her sick father.

While the overall long-term impact of the pandemic on churches is unknown, you might be surprised to know that new churches were started in the middle of this mess. For centuries, God has raised up men and women to dive head-first into challenging environments to reach lost people, and that continued in 2020.
Kelvin Deon Curtis, 35, of Wharton, born Aug. 3, 1985, departed this life, Dec. 20.Â
In his honor a visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 1, from 1-7 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home, and also at New Faith Church on Saturday, Jan. 2 from 10-11 a.m. The final farewell service and goodbye will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2 at New Faith Church for family only.Â
Masks required for both services. Kelvin will be laid to rest at Peach Creek Cemetery. Most precious memories entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home 979-532-2715.
