Daasebre Prof Oti Boateng lauds Zoomlion Ghana Limited

Graphic Online BY: graphic.com.gh 705 The Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Council, Daasebre Prof. (Emeritus) Oti Boateng has commended waste management experts Zoomlion Ghana Limited for the introduction of the 1 Million waste Bin Project . The project aims at ensuring that there is a waste bin in every household in Ghana. He welcomes the introduction of the project in his traditional area during the launching of his Root-Based Development Model (RBM) project dubbed ‘’Operation Clean Communities’’ in Koforidua. This health-driven initiative by the Omanhene is one of the six thematic development concerns of the Root-based model which is to complement the government’s effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and the four main communicable diseases in the Traditional Area.

Emmanuel accused the Chief Executive Officer of Otado Investment Limited -a private company in Koforidua the Eastern regional capital of collapsing his marriage after philandering with his wife who was working with the company. + Low usage of Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Bed Nets (LLITNs) identified in New Juaben South Municipality remain a grave challenge to Ghana’s drive in achieving zero malaria. This is because many people in the Municipal capital, Koforidua, in the Eastern Region, though have access to the treated nets, fail to use them due to social myths and perceptions. Some claimed they had no space to hang the nets because of their large family sizes, while others said it was uncomfortable sleeping under it as it produced heat. This came to light in a survey conducted by Ghana News Agency between January and February 2021 in over 12 communities within the Municipality.

705 The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben South in the Eastern Region, Mr Isaac Appaw-Gyasi, has called on Imams and pastors to ensure that their congregants continue to observe physical distancing and the wearing of nose masks in the mosques and in churches. He said it was only through that that worshippers would be protected against the COVID-19 pandemic. According to him, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would not be happy if people from the municipality were not practising physical distancing in the mosques and churches. Mr Appaw-Gyasi made the call when he shared 700 nose masks and 820 hand sanitisers to Muslims who congregated at the Koforidua Central Mosque to perform Jummah prayers last Friday.

KTU begins cyber security training

The new state-of-the-art facility, established by Cyber Ghana under the National Initiative for Cyber Engineering, Science, and Technology Educational Programme (NICESTEP), would offer consultancy services on cyber security and forensics; as well as hands-on training for interested persons to pioneer artificial knowledge studies in the region.
