Eight gets green light for feature documentary film about the life of Dame Valerie Adams

May 7 2021, 9:40 am | BY Ricki Green | No Comments Eight’s feature length documentary film about the life of Dame Valerie Adams has received a funding offer from the New Zealand Film Commission and is now in production via The Story Department.   Directed by Briar March (above left) and produced by Leanne Pooley, the film follows Dame Valerie’s journey to her fifth and final Olympic Games. The film will honour Dame Valerie (above right) as a woman who has not just survived a challenging past, but taken strength from her often difficult journey and turned it into greatness. Due for theatrical release in 2022, Eight has received additional brand funding for the project via local and international brand partners.

Green light for road closures during film production in Whanganui 29 Apr, 2021 05:00 PM 2 minutes to read Sections of Whanganui s Ridgway St and Victoria Ave will become a 19th century film set. Whanganui District Council has given the green light to close the areas to traffic and pedestrians from May 9 to May 11 while Dancing Pictures uses the area as a film set. The council held a brief extraordinary meeting on Thursday to approve the application which will allow the section from 24 to 43 Victoria Ave and the section from 51 Drews Ave to the Ridgway St/Victoria Ave intersection to be closed from 6pm on May 9 to 6am on May 11.
